Contestants create a menu, prepare one food item, and choose an appropriate theme for their occasion, all while expressing their food, nutrition, and food safety knowledge during a live interview with a judge at the contest.
Youth engaged in the Robotics Showcase will demonstrate their robots programming and/or show a video of their robot performing programmed functions. This is an interactive experience where members will be judged in a live setting.
The 4-H Chicken BBQ Contest is a national qualifying competition to showcase cooking and presentation skills in youth. Through the contest, youth cook chicken thighs using a charcoal grill and are judged on cooking skills, including food safety, appearance, and taste. They also give an illustrated talk showing their knowledge of the chicken industry in the U.S.
